Dr Claudine Kasselis (formerly Umashev) is a Queensland barrister with an extensive practice specialising in Family Law, Commercial Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Succession Law.
With an over 80% mediation success rate, Claudine is highly regarded as one of Brisbane’s finest mediators*. After practising as a CPA Accountant and Auditor early in her career, Claudine obtained a post graduate MBA in Strategic Management, and a PhD in Accounting and Strategic Management. This gives Claudine a distinct commercial advantage when it comes to family, commercial and succession law matters.
Claudine has been reputed to settle the ‘unsettleable’, due to her outstanding negotiation skills and high level of empathetic communication.
Immediately prior to her call to the Bar, Claudine was Associate to His Honour Justice Douglas of the Supreme Court and later practised as a solicitor at national firm, Freehills Solicitors. For many years Claudine has been an active supporter and volunteer legal advisor at the Women’s Legal Service and Caxton Community Legal Centre.
Dr Kasselis is also on the Board of Micah Projects, a not-for- profit organisation committed to providing services and opportunities in the community to create justice and respond to injustice.
